Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, better known to the world as Jay and Silent Bob from their films "Clerks," "Mallrats," and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," joined HuffPost Live Thursday afternoon to talk filmmaking, New Jersey icons, and their latest film "Jay & Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie."

"This is a big day for me ... I watch this all the time," Smith told host Alicia Menendez, adding that he's "still an AOL guy" who clicks on HuffPost stories and HuffPost Live video frequently.

"I've sat there many a morning," Smith continued, "and gone, 'I should be on this show, I should host this show'... This is so ideal to me. I'll just sit around and talk about the news. And everyone looks young and stuff. It makes me want to hang out."

Before the segment ended, HuffPost Live president Roy Sekoff came on set to make Smith a surprise offer. Sekoff told the director, "I heard you say that you are looking for a job, that you like this job, I'd like to offer you this job."
