Minka Kelly might not have been blond when she played Lyla Garrity on "Friday Night Lights," but now she is more familiar with the quintessential Texas hue.
Kelly dyed her brunette locks a golden shade of blonde last week at the Meche Salon in Los Angeles, according to People magazine's Style Watch. The 32-year-old beauty also chopped off her long locks in favor of a layered, shoulder-length style.
Colorist to the stars and Redken “creative consultant for color” Tracey Cunningham posted a photo of Kelly's new hair to Instagram, in a before-and-after setup.
The "Charlie's Angels" actress is certainly happy with the results. "Thank you for the fun summer goldierocks @traceycunningham1 I love it!! You're the best in the bizz! ❤," she wrote to Cunningham.
Kelly isn't the only brunette who went blond for the summer. Last month, Sofia Vergara dyed her hair blond -- which is actually her natural color.
Kelly can be seen as a brunette again in "The Butler," due out in October. The film looks at the life of Eugene Allen who served as the White House head butler from 1952 to 1986. Kelly plays Jackie O.
