Now that "Spring Breakers" mania has ebbed, it's time for hipsters and cool kids to get excited for the next A24 release about misplaced youth and excess: "The Bling Ring," Sofia Coppola's new film about the infamous Burglar Bunch in Los Angeles.
The bunch -- or Bling Ring, as the title indicates -- were a group of teenager who stole from celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan in 2008 and 2009. (Hilton actually makes an appearance in the new "Bling Ring" trailer; Lohan is merely, and memorably, referenced.) Coppola's film re-imagines their exploits with a youthful cast, including Emma Watson as Nicki, a potential onscreen version of Bling Ringer and reality star Alexis Neiers. "Harry Potter" fans expecting a large dose of Watson, however, may be disappointed.
Not that the new "Bling Ring" trailer does anything but put Watson center stage. "I want to rob," she says in the new footage. Indeed.
Watch the Sleigh Bells-fueled "Bling Ring" trailer above. (That's "Crown on the Ground" playing over the last part of the video.) "The Bling Ring" is set for release on June 14.
