Florence Welch's Romantic Home, As Seen In Vogue's May 2013 Issue On Sale Now (PHOTOS)

Definitely an upgrade from the mattress she used to call home.

Florence Welch, best known as lead singer for indie band Florence + the Machine, has a very distinct sound that's often described as mysterious and romantic. And after getting a glimpse of her home in the May issue of Vogue, it's obvious that these traits represent her personal style as well.

Recently, at the age of 26, she decided it was high time to leave her mother's South London home and bought a modest Georgian-style cottage nearby, with views of Parliament and the London Eye. Welch told Vogue that "I went from singing at the Met ball to coming home and sleeping on a mattress in my mom’s living room.” Now, in her quiet neighborhood, the star can ride her custom Bobbin bicycle to the market without getting noticed.

With a little help from designer and friend Carolyn Benson, she filled her new small space with English antiques, family treasures, turntables in every room and vintage finds she's collected over time. Welsch refers to the imperfect abode as "wonky" and says being inside is "like being drunk or on a ship — I think it suits me.”

The interiors give off a bohemian vibe with layers of tapestries, pillows and accessories in bright colors and patterns. Her bedroom, in muted shades of pink, gold and green, has a massive gilt sleigh bed covered in a floral print. Her clothing and shoe collection serves as colorful decor, like the draped Givenchy couture dress she wore to the Grammys. Welch's favorite space, though, is her bathroom with a wood paneled tub painted in a soothing blue.
