In the 18-49 demographic, "Duck Dynasty" had a 4.3 rating, beating "American Idol," which had a 3.2 rating, by 34 percent.
The "Duck Dynasty" Season 3 finale set A&E records with 5.6 million adults in the 25-54 demographic, 5.5 million adults in the 18-49 demo and 2.6 million adults in the 18-34 demo. It was the most-watched telecast in A&E's history across all key ratings demos.
The Season 3 premiere of "Duck Dynasty" had 8.6 million viewers and a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Season 3 of "Duck Dynasty" averaged 8.4 million viewers. It's the second-most-watched original series on cable behind "The Walking Dead."
The stars of "Duck Dynasty" were reportedly holding out for more money, but A&E announced production on Season 4 will begin soon and premiere later in 2013.
