Kym Whitley Says Motherhood Is 'The Hardest Job Ever' And Considers Getting Nanny (VIDEO)

WATCH: Kym Whitley Joins The Great Nanny Debate

When comedian and actress Kym Whitley starred on the NBC sitcom "Animal Practice," she brought her son Joshua to on-set daycare while she worked. But after the sitcom got canceled, Kym found herself in a new role as a stay-at-home mom -- and also found herself wondering if it was time to get a nanny to help her out.

In this clip from "Raising Whitley," Kym turns to fellow actress/comic Caroline Rhea for advice. "The reason I really like talking to Caroline is because she seems to have struck a balance with her career and motherhood," Kym says. During lunch, the two funnywomen dig deep and discuss the age-old mommy question: to nanny or not to nanny?

"It's a lot trying to take care of Joshua," Kym tells Caroline in the clip. "[Motherhood] is the hardest job ever… They're needy and… you gotta make sure that they live. You know, it's a lot."

Laughing, Caroline jokes, "Way to set that bar high as a mother." But she does agree with Kym that motherhood is overwhelming and offers her own advice when Kym wonders whether or not she should get a nanny.

"You have to be a role model. So, you have to be able to leave the house," Caroline says to Kym. "It's not like somebody else is raising your child, but you need to have somebody so that you have time to do everything that you do to make your life complete so that you are a good mother."

"So, nanny is okay?" Kym asks. Caroline nods before offering one more piece of wisdom.

"You do have to pay them -- you know that right?" she asks Kym. "Because you are the cheapest person when it comes to that."

"I'm not cheap, I'm thrifty," Kym retorts.

See what happens when Kym begins her nanny search on "Raising Whitley," which airs Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.
