Katey Sagal Explains Peg Bundy's Hair And Opens Up About 'Glee' (VIDEO)

The Secret Behind Peg Bundy's Hair

Katey Sagal is revealing the secrets behind Peg Bundy's hair.

The "Sons of Anarchy" star down with the ladies of "The Talk" this week and revealed that her "Married ... With Children" character's bouffant was her defense mechanism. "I kept thinking, 'They're going to fire me any second,'" she explained. "So I sort of had this idea that I'll disguise myself. 'Nobody will recognize me when I take this off.'"

Of course, Sagal ultimately didn't have to worry: She played Peg Bundy and rocked that big red 'do on the show for 11 seasons.

Sagal is returning to her comedic roots on "Glee," where she'll play Artie's (Kevin McHale) mom. "Well, I've been pitching myself for about three years to be on that show," she admitted on "The Talk." Sagal said she and McHale decided at Comic-Con that she would play his character's mom, but she still had to weasel her way into the role.

Unfortunately, Sagal won't be singing on "Glee" this time around, but she revealed that she'll be back for Season 5 and could be using her vocals on the Fox dramedy next season.

Sagal is set to appear in next week's May 2nd episode of "Glee," titled "Wonder-ful." Check out Fox's official description here:

The members of New Directions take on the greatest hits of music icon Stevie Wonder. Meanwhile, Artie receives news that could affect his future and his mom (guest star Katey Sagal). In New York, Rachel prepares for her "Funny Girl" callback.

"The Talk" airs weekdays at 2 p.m. ET on CBS and "Glee" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
