Eclectic designer Betsey Johnson came to visit us on HuffPost Live on Tuesday, and naturally, talk turned to the spirited septuagenarian's accessory collection. Rocking a veritable arm party, Betsey kicked up her feet (literally -- she certainly must feel at home with us) and explained the significance behind her jewelry.
"I like little tokens," Betsey said. "They all tell stories to me." We agree, as we've often found that the backstory behind a bracelet tends to deepen our attachment to it. Johnson showed off a bangle she got with a friend when she was 7 and a pair of pantyhose tied around her wrist, among other little treasures.
Betsey also told us about her favorite clothes: "I only wear t-shirt dresses and pants," she insisted. We believe her -- it's no secret that the famously flexible designer likes to be comfortable. Her favorite two dresses, she says, are basic styles by the late Alexander McQueen.
We love accessories that speak for themselves. What's the story behind your favorite accessory? Tell us in the comments!
