Sotheby's Craigslist Ad Shows Hilarious Incompetence

UPDATE: The post was, indeed, a hoax. A pretty funny one, we have to admit.

Sotheby's, the New York City-based auction house, has a reputation for excellence on all fronts -- but a hilariously mangled ad posted to Craigslist on Monday seeking a new administrative assistant reveals that they need to take away certain responsibilities from some of their employees.

Suffice to say that the ad, which displays a lack of basic computer knowledge that one might think is necessary for pretty much anyone in 2013, especially an administrative assistant, was probably not the kind of public image that Sotheby's would like to project.

Some speculated that the ad itself was a hoax. But it's since been changed to reflect the original intent, so maybe the baffling levels of computer illiteracy were somehow real after all.
