Things were moving quickly on "Survivor: Caramoan" this week. Instead of a Reward Challenge, the eight remaining castaways were treated to two Immunity Challenges. That meant scrambling faster than usual as they tried to figure out who to boot and when to blindside within their own alliance.
The first elimination was pretty straightforward, with the alliance of six staying strong and getting rid of Reynold -- easily the biggest physical threat. But then, things got interesting for the second one. Andrea had already started an aggressive play to eliminate Brenda after the two battled for more than three hours in the Immunity Challenge. She worried about Brenda's prowess in challenges, and rightfully so.
Andrea was feeling doubly confident. She won Immunity for the first Tribal Council, and Erik handed her the hidden immunity idol immediately after finding it, so she had that in her pocket going into the second one. "“I feel bad for the kid," she said of Brenda. "Because going back to my first season, I felt completely comfortable, and then, bam! I was blindsided."
She said she'd play her idol if she felt at all paranoid, but her tribe had her feeling cool and confident. She had no idea what was happening until she was blindsided out of the game. Rather than be bitter, though, Andrea gave them props for getting her out the way they did. Buddy TV appreciated the class she showed in taking her elimination with a smile.
Entertainment Weekly was impressed with her performance out there, even if she came up short. "She was someone who was brought back because she was a blonde in a bikini," they said. "But she proved she was a lot more than that in her second outing. She came to play this time."
Six remain as "Survivor: Carmaon" wraps it all up next week. First, tune in on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET and then come back Sunday at 8 p.m. ET for the two-hour season finale, followed by the live reunion special, all on CBS.
