Art Smith, the cookbook author and former personal chef to Oprah Winfrey, Jeb Bush and others, is out with a new book -- but this time he's talking healthy eats.

After the James Beard Award winning chef found himself 100 pounds overweight, with high blood preasure, cholesterol and diabetes, he knew he needed to make a change. He started learning to make delicious meals that would help him achieve his health goals. The result? Art Smith's Healthy Comfort.

On HuffPost Live, Smith talked about his experience developing the book and took questions from viewers. When one asked about her love of carbohydrates, he offered some good tips. As for his own carb intake, he limits bread consumption to the homemade variety and consumes pasta sparingly and usually on Sundays -- his "free" day to eat favorite foods.
