One person was killed and two more were injured in an early morning crash on the Kennedy Expressway near O'Hare Airport.
The crash shut down all outbound lanes of the Kennedy at Cumberland Avenue, the Tribune reports, though the left lane and shoulder reopened to traffic around 8 a.m.
Illinois State Police say the crash happened at 6:10 a.m. and involved a semi and at least two other cars, according to DNAinfo Chicago. NBC Chicago reports one person pinned inside had to be extracted from a vehicle while the injured parties were taken to area hospitals.

ABC Chicago reports cleanup is "expected to take hours" as State Police are investigating how the crash occurred.
