Orr Seems To Favor Cincinnati's Police Chief For Detroit, Says Decision Near

Amid reports that Cincinnati’s police chief has been tapped to be Detroit’s next top cop, emergency manager Kevyn Orr told the Free Press editorial board Monday that a new chief will be hired “imminently.”

Orr inferred that he favors an outside candidate who can come in and handle a restructuring of the department. He did not mention Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig by name, but said there are three remaining candidates and Craig is the only outside candidate for the job. The two other candidates are already on the police force.
