Anderson Cooper will soon appear on television as a yellow cartoon with four fingers. That's right: he's getting "The Simpsons" treatment.

Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa Simpson, tweeted Tuesday,

Cooper returned the love, writing "@YeardleySmith was such a pleasure to meet you!"

The CNN host is a fan of the sitcom, which he has discussed on air before. In 2011, he put Twentieth Century Fox Television on the Ridiculist when "The Simpsons" was in danger of being canceled because of a dispute over the voice actors' pay.

"Some of us know these [characters] better than our own neighbors," Cooper said at the time. "'The Simpsons' is the long-running sitcom in broadcast history for three reasons: amazing talent, brilliant writing and perhaps most important, the wisdom of Ralph Wiggum."
