Tracy Morgan Opens Up On 'Billboard Music Awards' Critics (VIDEO)

WATCH: Tracy Morgan Defends His Comedy

As the Billboard Music Awards is set to take place this weekend at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, comedian Tracy Morgan is more than thrilled to helm hosting duties for this year’s annual event.

During a recent appearance on New York's Power 105.1 morning show, "The Breakfast Club," the 44-year-old shared his thoughts on critics who may take aim at his comedy during the show.

"I look at it as fun. I'm going to have fun and set the tone for the show. I’m not the show,” he admitted. “We have writers and I engage. We collaborate. That’s a blessing… even in my stand up. Some people get offended, I know I'm gonna lose some folks in my audience.”

“Everybody don't like Chex, some people like Cap'n Crunch. That’s just taste… I talk about everyone on stage so if that's not your taste, then get up and walk out. But it’s just comedy."

In addition to defending his art, the former "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock" cast member also opened up on how he was once considered for the lead role in Ol' Dirty Bastard’s forthcoming biopic.
