Roberts, Shuster Trade Jabs On Twitter

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts got into a Twitter fight with David Shuster on Monday.

On Monday, Roberts wondered whether former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, may have targeted Tea Party groups because he thought they would "splinter the foundation of the Republican side."

Shuster, a former MSNBC anchor, instigated a fight when he took issue with the suggestion and tweeted:

Roberts responded,

Shuster — formerly a host on Current TV, before the network was sold to Al Jazeera — now hosts a radio show called "Take Action News with David Shuster."

The Obama administration has come under fire since it was revealed earlier this month that the IRS subjected conservative groups to extra scrutiny. Obama publicly condemned the agency for its actions, which the White House said the president learned about the IRS' actions through news reports.
