A grassroots group is inviting volunteers to participate Saturday in the first annual 24-hour mowing marathon at abandoned playgrounds in Detroit.
The Mowtown Mowdown by Husqvarna, hosted by the Detroit Mower Gang, starts at 10 a.m. at O'Shea Playground, off Greenfield Road near I-96, said chief mower Tom Nardone, 43.
