Married Couple Ripped Apart During Oklahoma Tornado

WATCH: Tornado Survivor Describes Husband Being Ripped From Her Arms

Jerrie Bhonde held onto her husband, Hemant Bhonde, as long as she could as the tornado ripped through their Oklahoma home on Monday.

But as they hid in their bathroom, Hemant was wrenched from Jerrie's arms by the powerful winds and disappeared, Jerrie told Anderson Cooper Wednesday.

"The walls just kind of came down on me and kind of swirled. I held onto my husband as long as I could, and then he just flew into space," she said.

Jerrie said before he disappeared, Hemant told her he loved her.

"I know my husband's with me. He had a bright light that wouldn't be put out, and he'll be with me for the rest of my life," she said.

Hemant is one of the 24 people confirmed killed by the tornado, which left a path of destruction 17 miles long and 1.3 miles wide.
