Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan got a huge surprise on Tuesday's "Live!" when Oprah unexpectedly came out from backstage.
The hosts were interviewing Tyler Perry, whose new show "The Haves and the Have Nots" debuts on OWN Tuesday night. Ripa asked Perry if Oprah ever asked him about the last time he was on the show, when they called her and left her a voice message.
Perry took his phone out to call her again, and Ripa was thrilled when Oprah picked up. Oprah said she was trying to find a better connection when moments later, the media mogul herself walked out on set.
After overcoming their initial shock, Ripa and Strahan showed clips of Strahan impersonating Oprah and Perry. "I'm sorry to both of you," Strahan joked. Oprah also called the two hosts "the reigning king and queen" of talk shows, referring to the high ratings netted by "Live!"
"Loved surprising Kelly and Michael today," Oprah wrote on Facebook. "They were shocked when I walked on. Tyler's idea."
