Major Lazer's 'Bubble Butt' Video: Diplo Project's Bizarre New Clip Places Emphasis On Inflated Rump-Shaking

We'll leave it up to you all to determine whether Major Lazer's new song is a bizarre electro-feminist anthem ... or just bizarre. The video, at least, is an eccentric sci-fi rendering that features a singing head hanging from a chain, Space Age garb, pulsating neon lights and, naturally, a lot of rump-shaking.

That, in a nutshell, defines "Bubble Butt," the strange new video from Diplo's musical project Major Lazer. The video is directed by Eric Wareheim, who's known for making out-there efforts and for being one-half of the Adult Swim comedy duo Tim & Eric. He previously worked on videos for MGMT ("The Youth"), Depeche Mode ("Hole to Feed," which comes with an "inappropriate content" warning on YouTube) and Maroon 5 ("If I Never See Your Face Again," Swizz Beatz Remix), as well as Beach House's equally eccentric "Wishes" clip.

"Bubble Butt" features Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz, Tyga and Mystic, although none of them appear in the video. The main cast involves women getting their behinds inflated in order to enjoy an evening of confetti-infused dancing at a psychedelic nightclub. Both the song and the video, which hail from Major Lazer's latest album "Free the Universe," are splendidly absurd.
