C-Suite: MakerBot CEO Bre Pettis Tells Execs, Don't Be The Smartest Guy In The Room

Bre Pettis, the CEO of 3-D technology company MakerBot, has some simple advice for his fellow business executives: If you are the smartest guy in the room, get out.

In an interview with HuffPostLive on Monday, Pettis said that he is always looking for employees who are smarter than he and can bring value to his company. CEOs, he added, should not let their desire to be the smartest person in the room get in the way of the hiring process.

MakerBot now has more than 200 employees and is the producer of the Replicator 2, a 3-D office printer that can create precise objects from 3-D designs. NASA has started to use similar technology to develop parts for models, according to Forbes.
