Mike Duggan To Appeal Decision After Judge Kicked Him Off Mayoral Ballot | Detroit Free Press

Duggan Isn't Giving Up

Mike Duggan will appeal a judge's decision to remove his name from the Detroit mayoral ballot, the front-running contender announced this morning.

The former Detroit Medical Center CEO has been trading the lead in polls with Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon in the race to replace outgoing Mayor Dave Bing, who is not running for re-election. Knocking out either front-runner would certainly send shockwaves through the heated campaign, one that now pits a popular union-endorsed former Detroit police chief against a former Wayne County prosecutor who's lined up heavy support from downtown business leaders.
