Black Voices Breakthrough Theater, part of our Screening Room experience, is a ten part series where our panel of curators present new, short films and web series created by emerging talent --both on screen and behind the camera.
This week's entry, "A Creation Story," follows the intimate relationship between a mother and a daughter's hair history using clay animation and live action.

NATASHA NGAIZA was born in London and raised in the U.S. by Tanzanian immigrants. She recently received her MFA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University. “A Creation Story” and her first film, "5 Afternoons" have screened at numerous film festivals and venues including The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, the African Diaspora International Film Festival in New York and both films won awards at the 2011 Urban Mediamakers Film Festival. Natasha is passionate about African and African American cinema and using film as a tool to educate, empower and uplift. She recently completed her third narrative short "Blackout" and currently lives in Santiago, Chile with her husband and daughter.
