Homosexuality And Masculinity In The Arab World On HuffPost Live

The Pew Research Center recently released results of a survey that revealed that tolerance towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community has grown.

On the June 14 segment of HuffPost Live, host Josh Zepps discussed why African and Muslim countries remain intolerant.

Human rights activist Abdelwahid Benbouziyane and Muslim LGBT activist Kamal Fizazi were among those who joined the show for the discussion.

"It is different from one country to another. I think it is linked to both religion and masculinity and how masculinity is seen in the country," said Benbouziyane. "Also it is linked to the political system. It applies to everything. To alcohol and sex before marriage."
