When Princess Letizia stepped out in her pancake-like hat during the Dutch Inauguration in April, we figured that would be the first and last time we saw such a perplexing topper. But we're willing to admit that our fashion forecast was wrong: The hat is back!
Well, sort of. For Luxembourg National Day celebrations on Sunday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa opted for a head-to-toe lavender ensemble, complete with a flattened, sideways cap. The shape, along with the flowers shooting out the top, conjured images of Letizia's blue Maria Nieto hat.
While we're not 100 percent sure the look merited a repeat performance, we give Maria Teresa props for taking the millinery risk. Now we're just waiting for a third brave royal to try a pancake hat and make it an official trend -- are you listening, Princess Beatrice?
