EDITH WINDSOR
WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 27: Edith Windsor, 83, acknowledges her supporters as she leaves the Supreme Court March 27, 2013 in Washington, DC. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case 'Edith Schlain Windsor, in Her Capacity as Executor of the Estate of Thea Clara Spyer, Petitioner v. United States,' which challenges the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the second case about same-sex marriage this week. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) | Getty

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Proposition 8 are officially dead. Love is love, everyone.

After months of speculation over how these two landmark cases would pan out, Wenesday morning the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruled 5-4 in both cases and made marriage equality advocates across the country very happy. The court found DOMA to be a "violation of the Fifth Amendment," clearing the way for couples in states that recognize same-sex marriage to receive federal benefits. SCOTUS also dismissed Prop 8, but did so without making any sweeping ruling on gay marriage bans. (See this handy dandy infographic from The Atlantic Wire if you're wondering exactly who can get married when in the wake of the rulings.)

As soon as SCOTUS' decisions were announced, the Internet lit up with celebration, hilarious tweets and definitely-will-make-you-cry photos of plaintiff Edie Windsor. (We may have teared up a little -- or a lot -- in our corner of the newsroom.)

To celebrate these historic decisions, we've rounded up some of our favorite reactions from women to the big SCOTUS news:
