The world is changing and the American education system hasn’t kept pace. Experts from across the ideological spectrum agree that we must dramatically retool education in this country — but the question is how? Forty-five states and the District of Columbia have now agreed to a seismic shift in the teaching of language arts and math by embracing the Common Core State Standards. On Sunday, June 30, LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy, former New York City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein, and Congressman Eric Cantor join in conversation with moderator and education philanthropist Lynda Resnick about the the hard work of creating a paradigm shift in how we equip our children for a radically changing global economy.
