Stamping the name "Kate Moss" across a product once offered a certain cachet -- but now, it's starting to feel a bit commonplace. The supermodel's latest endorsement, the Kate Moss Accessories Collection, can't be found in your local Topshop or drugstore makeup aisle but rather at UK mobile phone retailers. How... glamorous?
This time, Carphone Warehouse has enlisted the future Playboy cover girl to shill "fashion tech" phone accessories. Carphone is likely looking to tap into a burgeoning market: One in four UK women buy cell phone add-ons, and female smartphone ownership has increased by 52 percent in the past year alone.
"Fashion tech blurs the lines between fashion and technology, and Kate Moss is the perfect match for us to drive forward integration and creativity from the two industries," Carphone marketing director Julian Diment told the Daily Express. "From the quality of materials to design," Moss herself claims, "I wanted the best for my range that reflected my personal style."
Kate claims to have been "heavily involved" with the designs, which include leather materials and charm embellishments. These ain't no sidewalk cases. Carphone's collection will launch later this summer -- see the site's tease below. Will you be Moss-ifying your mobile?
