7-Car Pile-Up In Georgia: 6 Drivers Get DUIs In Massive Crash

6 Drivers Get DUIs After 7-Car Pile-Up

At least five drivers who found themselves in a seven-car pile-up in Georgia Friday morning were driving drunk and another may still be charged, Clayton County officials say.

A pedestrian walked onto I-75 near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 3 a.m., Clayton County Police spokeswoman Danielle Rosa told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

A vehicle hit the pedestrian, setting off a chain reaction that ended in a seven-car pile-up that blocked all southbound lanes for hours.

"Luckily, nobody was killed," Rosa told the paper. Several people, including the pedestrian, were injured, according to CBS Atlanta.

According to the AJC, the pedestrian is in critical condition.

Drivers William Scott Kirk II, Najm Martinez, Joseph Daise, Tawan Hayes and Joshua Noble were jailed on DUI charges.

A sixth driver is still in the hospital, but is expected to be charged with a DUI after being released, WSBTV reports.

The pedestrian faces a pedestrian in roadway charge.
