Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater: The Coolest Safari Stop (PHOTO)

PHOTO: An Amazing Crater In Tanzania

Behold the beauty of this totally breathtaking hole in the earth!

The Ngorongoro Crater is in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of Tanzania, which was recently voted the best country for African safaris.

It should be no surprise that a place so stunningly beautiful would rank on top of that list. Ngorongoro supports about 2 million species of migratory wildlife -- from lions and zebras to hippos and wildebeest -- of the Serengeti ecosystem. Thought to have formed about 2.5 million years ago, the volcanic caldera is massive, measuring between 10 and 12 miles across with an area of 102 square miles. From floor to rim, the crater rises to an elevation of 7,500 feet.

With the opportunity to see some incredible wildlife and the utter beauty the landscape has to offer, this very well may be the best part of your safari.
