National Zoo's Great Apes Celebrate Independence Day (PHOTOS)

Humans weren't the only primates enjoying Independence Day this year in Washington. The National Zoo's gorillas and orangutans also got some July 4th action.

Here's what the Zoo said about their Great Ape House party on Facebook:

Keepers hung fruitsicles and hid peanut butter in enrichment items around the gorilla yard. The orangutans received treats as well as patriotic decorations that they had fun carrying around the exhibit and wrapping themselves in. The hidden treats and decorations provided them with extra stimulation.
