Nick Swisher Fails: Indians Player Has Embarrassing Game Against Tigers (VIDEOS)

Nick Swisher's Embarrassing Game

Cleveland's Nick Swisher made not one but two embarrassing plays on Monday night in an extra-innings loss to Detroit.

First, with the score tied at two in the bottom of the eighth inning, Swisher hit a singing bunt down the third base line. The ball initially rolled into foul territory. Swisher decided not to run to first and turned away from the ball. Meanwhile, Tigers catcher Brayan Pena followed the ball as it rolled back into fair territory. He then picked it up, ran over to Swisher and tagged him out.

Swisher could only smile as he asked for an explanation from the home plate umpire.

The Tigers had a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the 10th inning when Swisher made it to second base on a single and then a fielder's indifference call. With two outs, Cleveland's Michael Brantley hit a line drive to right field. Swisher rounded third base and looked as if he would score easily, but he slipped just after he touched the bag. With runners on first and third, Mike Aviles struck out to end the game and the Tigers won 4-2.
