Eminem, Big Sean Collaborated On Song Together In Detroit (VIDEO)

Big Sean Drops Some Good News About Eminem

Good news for fans of Detroit rap: two of the D's heaviest hitters are working on a song together.

Big Sean told listeners that he and Eminem teamed up for a session in a Detroit recording studio during an appearance on New York radio station Power 105.1's show "The Breakfast Club."

When will it be released? Big Sean said they'd have to "wait and see" where it ended up.

"He's a true OG, man, I don't know if there's any misconceptions about him but that dude is real polite, real nice," he said about Eminem.

The two rappers -- one who climbed to fame only recently, the other, a household name for more than a decade -- spent several hours swapping stories about performing in the basement of St. Andrews, a rite of passage for Detroit MCs, and the Palace, a large local stadium. Then, Big Sean played "Hall of Fame" for the older rapper. The album, a followup to "Finally Famous," is set to be released August 27.

According to Big Sean, Eminem was majorly "impressed" with the sophomore album.

"That was just an honor," he said. "Coming from the D ... that was the person that showed us that it was real, that showed us you could be the biggest in the world from where we from."

Earlier, Big Sean said fans could expect a "Detroit classic" from a collaboration between himself and Eminem.

Little has been revealed about Eminem's anticipated eighth studio album, but new song "Symphony in H" was released on iTunes Wednesday.

And there is one guest appearance Big Sean has revealed for "Hall of Fame": his mom. The two must have a pretty great relationship. The rapper's studio visit with Eminem was just a detour during a trip planned to check out the house he bought for his mom. Now that's a nice use of fame.

Watch the video above to see what else Big Sean has to say, from growing up in Detroit to his thoughts on Kanye West's new album and more.
