Reid: 'Boehner Should Let The House Vote' On Immigration

WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives must act on immigration reform passed by the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Sunday.

"Yes, they will act. They have to," Reid said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "This is something that the vast, vast majority of Republicans, Democrats, and independents support, and [Speaker] John Boehner should let the House vote. If the House voted it would pass overwhelmingly."

Immigration legislation, Reid said, "has been hard to come by because of the obstruction of the Republicans."

"Conservative groups all over America are running ads telling Republicans to vote for this. This is a good bill. It gives us security on our border and it gives people who are here a pathway to citizenship," Reid said. "It saves the country a trillion dollars, it's good for the economy. Not a billion, a trillion."
