PJ Morton's 'Work It Out' Video Sees Maroon 5 Keyboardist Branching Out

Maroon 5's Keyboardist Can Sing Too

Maroon 5 keyboardist PJ Morton is a sterling talent in his own right. Signed as an R&B-cum-pop artist to Young Money Entertainment, Morton released "New Orleans" in May, and HuffPost Entertainment is exclusively debuting his latest video, this time for "Work It Out."

"New Orleans" features a bevy of big name talent, including Stevie Wonder, who provided the harmonica on "Only One," Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Busta Rhymes. But on "Work It Out," it's only Morton doing his thing -- and fighting for his life.

“'Work It Out' is about that moment in a relationship where it's your last attempt," Morton said in a statement to HuffPost. "It's where your girl is totally fed up with you and you're giving it that one last try at getting her back. I felt that the relationship scenario where you kiss and make up has been done a million times over so I wanted it to come from another place. We took it a step further and made it so that she's so fed up that she's ready to literally kill me and I'm begging for my life. Travis Schneider is the director. He came up with the concept!”

Morton is currently headlining his own tour, but fans can catch him opening for (and then performing with) Maroon 5 on their upcoming tour in September. Let us know what you think in the comments.
