Emma Roberts Arrested After Domestic Violence Incident Involving Boyfriend Evan Peters

Emma Roberts Arrested For Domestic Violence

Emma Roberts was arrested earlier this month in Canada for a domestic violence incident involving her boyfriend, actor Evan Peters, TMZ reported Tuesday.

The 22-year-old former Nickelodeon star was taken into custody early Sunday, July 7, in Montreal after getting into a physical altercation with her "American Horror Story" beau at a hotel. Someone called police to report a fight, according to TMZ, and when officers arrived they reportedly found Peters with a bloody nose and a bite mark.

Roberts, who also allegedly had injuries, was arrested based on witness statements, E! News reported. She was later released without incident.

“That woman was brought to court, and no charges were pressed on her,” Montreal police spokesman Laurent Gingras told The Hollywood Reporter.

Although her name was never officially disclosed by authorities since the 26-year-old actor declined to press charges, Roberts released a joint statement with Peters regarding the incident after the story broke. "It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," read the statement obtained by Us Weekly. "Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

A source told the magazine the couple, who have been dating since spring 2012, "seemed fine" just a few days after the incident occurred.

Next up, the two will appear on the big screen together in "Adult World," due out later this year. Roberts will also join Peters on the small-screen in "American Horror Story: Coven" playing a self-involved party girl named Madison.
