Clarisonic Deep Pore Detoxifying Solution Gets Rid Of The Gunk

How To Get The Gunk Out Of Your Pores

The stress of moving into a new apartment, plus all the greasy take-out I ate, wreaked havoc on my skin. I ended up with pimples that my friend thought were moles (how embarrassing!), and my complexion looked lackluster. So I couldn't be more excited about testing out the new Clarisonic Deep Pore Detoxifying Solution.

I'm already an avid user of the Clarisonic cleansing brush, but I tend to wash my face before bed and with the Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser. (It gives me better results than the gentle clarifying cleanser that's included in the kit.) However, Clarisonic's latest collection includes the brand's first-ever two-step treatment to deep clean pores.

It took a few drops of the clear Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and a little water to create a rich foaming lather. The oscillating brush head on this tool didn't feel as though it was getting to the nitty gritty of my clogged pores, but once it shut off after one minute, I was shocked that my skin looked and felt cleaner.

I'm usually a bit skeptical about at-home masks. Up until this point nothing extracted the pesky blackheads around my nostrils better than my facialist. But the Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask has given her a run for her money.

I applied a thin layer of the opaque gray mask (it contains bentonite clay) and left it on for 15 minutes while I unpacked boxes. Then I used the cleansing brush to help rinse it off with warm water. Within a week, I noticed that the huge zit on my left cheekbone had come to a head, the small pimples along my chin were nonexistent and my face was not as oily. Mission accomplished!

Rating: 4 out of 5. I think it's less about the tool and more about the quality facial cleansing products.
