Jane Lynch Remembers 'Glee' Co-Star Cory Monteith

Jane Lynch dropped by "The Tonight Show" where she spoke in remembrance of her "Glee" co-star Cory Monteith. The 31-year-old actor died from a lethal combination of alcohol and heroin last weekend. Despite graduating from high school a season ago, Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, remained a key part of the show, helping mentor and run the glee club he was once a part of.

“Cory’s one of the biggest hearts. Real bright light," said Lynch. "He was one of those guys that, you know, he knew he was breathing rarified air. The gifts ... this wonderful show gave us. And he was one of those guys, he was always aware that it was a gift.”

“I don’t think he left one day unlived," she said. "We’ve lost a really great guy.”

When Jay Leno asked Lynch how she would like Monteith to be remembered, Lynch said as a giver. She said that he once few across the country on his own dime to spend time with a dying fan.

Other co-stars have released statements about the loss of their coworker and friend. Dianna Agron agreed that Monteith should be remembered for his kindness. “He was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever met," she said on TV Line. "He had a smart, curious mind, he was an enormous talent. He was loving to not only me, but my family.”

As for the show, which has already been renewed through 2015, TMZ reports that the writers held an emergency meeting to work out how to deal with the loss of Monteith and his character.
