Meredith Vieira's forthcoming talk show has been sold to NBC stations nationwide, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

Vieira's talk show, titled "The Meredith Vieira Show," will debut on NBC stations in 2014. The Post reported that the time slot was still unconfirmed, but there was a possibility the show could air at 2:00 p.m. in New York, competing directly with CBS' "The Talk."

NBC announced plans for Vieira's talk show earlier this month. She appeared on "Today" to discuss the new show and joked that comparisons to former "Today" host Katie Couric were inevitable. Vieira replaced Couric on the NBC morning show in 2006 when she left to host the "CBS Evening News." Couric then launched her own daytime talk show, originally produced by new CNN chief Jeff Zucker, in September 2012.

Rumors have been swirling around the future of Couric's daytime talk show, a program that has seen multiple staffing changes in recent months. "Katie" just wrapped its first season and was renewed for a second season earlier this year.
