Avril Lavigne wants you to know that she does not care. In fact, she'll "put a middle finger to the sky and let 'em know that we're still rock 'n' roll." That's the crux of her message on the new single "Rock N Roll," a follow-up to "Here's To Never Growing Up."

The track was produced by Max Martin, who has worked extensively with Britney Spears and Katy Perry. Martin previously worked with Lavigne on her 2011 album "Goodbye Lullaby."

Lavigne issued a Twitter campaign to "unlock" the song on Thursday, asking fans to make the hashtag #UnlockRockNRoll trend in order to hear the debut. The initiative was successful.

The singer also unveiled the cover art for the single in a tweet on Thursday:

"Rock N Roll" will serve as the second single from Lavigne's upcoming fifth album. Listen to the new song above.
