President Obama surprised everyone, including the press, when he delivered unannounced remarks on Friday about Trayvon Martin's death.

Members of the White House press corps were out of their seats and caught totally off guard when the president suddenly walked into the briefing room. Reporters clumsily rushed to their seats while others yelled, "WHOA! WHOA!"

"That's so disappointing, man," Obama joked. Turning to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, Obama added, "Jay, is this the kind of respect you get? You know on television it usually looks like you're addressing a full room."

Obama laughed as various reporters yelled out, "They're generally not on time!" "There's usually a 90 second warning!" "I was filing on the Detroit story!"

"I got you, alright," Obama said. "Sorry about that. You think anybody else is showing up?"

Obama proceeded to deliver a deeply personal response to the death of Tryavon Martin and the outcome of the George Zimmerman trial. All three cable networks broke their regular programming schedules to cover the president's remarks. ABC News also interrupted its programming to air a special report.
