Year after year Nicolita draws crowds eager to see the brand's fun, theatrical take on runway shows.
Saturday crowds included Miss Florida U.S. International and "Real Housewives of Miami" stars Alexia Echevarria and Marysol Patton, all expecting a show that is a refreshing break from the otherwise more serious line-up at Swim Week Miami.
Beyond a good show, the line's designer, Nicole Di Rocco, creates conservative yet sexy swimwear with curve-flattering styles that are designed with the curvaceous Latina figure in mind.
They are a nod to the glamour of 1940s Cuba with a Malibu beach twist, and this year, Di Rocco drew inspiration from film noir detective movies from the 1950s, titling her collection: The Search For The Perfect Booty.
The collection blends the latest trends of lace, trim, hardware and retro styles with clever derrière-enhancing cuts that flatter different body shapes.
Her high-waisted bikini bottoms not only compliment just about any body shape, but they also provide more coverage in the hip area for fuller figures with curves. Meanwhile Nicolita's more revealing suits for 2014 feature charming touches like ruffles and bows.
The collection's color palette sticks to buff pink, mint green, bright coral, and black in both solids and prints, while patterns such as chevron, watercolor florals, and polka dots help keep each look modern.
And in keeping with the Search For The Perfect Booty theme, runway looks also featured a canvas beach tote that read: “I heart my booty." How cheeky.
