405 North Closure Of Sunset Boulevard Off Ramp For 120 Days

Don't despair -- just prepare.

Starting Aug. 3, the Sunset Boulevard off-ramp on the northbound 405 Freeway will be closed for 120 days, according to a Metro news release issued Wednesday.

The closure, part of the Sepulveda Pass Improvement project, will enable crews to work to lengthen and widen the off-ramp by 60 percent.

Approximately 1,200 drivers use the off-ramp on a daily basis during its peak times, NBC reports. So even if it's not your exit, expect delays.

If it is an exit you use, here are detours to bypass the construction:

Westbound Sunset:
• Daytime: Northbound I-405 off-ramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard, to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to eastbound Sepulveda Way, to westbound Sunset Boulevard.
• Alternate: Moraga Drive off-ramp, to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard, right on Church Lane to Sunset Boulevard.
• Nighttime: Northbound I-405 off-ramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard, right on northbound San Vicente Boulevard, right onto north Barrington Avenue, left onto westbound Sunset Boulevard.

ALSO:

Eastbound Sunset:

• Northbound I-405 off-ramp to eastbound Wilshire Boulevard, to northbound Veteran Avenue to eastbound Sunset Boulevard.
