Mets All-Star David Wright added to the list of Mets fails in their game against Atlanta on Wednesday night.
During the bottom of the fourth inning, Wright hit into a 6-4-3 double play and never ran to first base. That's because Wright's bat broke as he followed through on his swing and when it snapped, the barrel struck the Mets' captain in the back of the head.
“It stunned me at first for a few seconds,” he told The Star-Ledger. “But I’ll live.”
