Jayma Mays' Ear Bleeding Story Grosses Out Everyone On 'The Tonight Show' (VIDEO)

Jayma Mays' Shares Gross Story About Her Ear Bleeding

Maybe Jayma Mays was tapping into the OCD of her "Glee" character a little too closely. She told a story on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" that had her fellow guest, Ashton Kutcher, literally rolling around on the couch in discomfort. It all started with an earache.

Mays thought she had an ear infection. That is, until blood started pouring out of her ear. So she thought maybe she'd burst her eardrum. But when she went to her doctor, the situation was far more disturbing -- and gross. A nurse put drops in her ear and "it started to drown the insect that was living there, so it climbed out of my ear," Mays explained.

According to her doctor, the problem was that her ears were actually too clean. Apparently, ear wax keeps insects out of our ears. So put away those cotton swabs and keep your ears bug free!

Things are looking good for Mays' ears, and her career. Her role on "Glee" is recurring, freeing her up to join the forthcoming CBS sitcom, "The Millers," where she'll get to star alongside the likes of Will Arnett, Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale. Fans can also find her on the big screen in "The Smurfs 2," hitting theaters on July 31.
