Jennifer Lopez quickly quashed a rumor that she is engaged to boyfriend Casper Smart, which surfaced after she was spotted wearing some diamonds on a certain finger.
On July 26, the superstar attended the Viva Movil by Jennifer Lopez flagship store opening in New York City. She looked gorgeous in a white Elie Saab frock, but it was her left hand that had people talking. On her left ring-finger, Lopez wore a stack of diamond bands. Some thought this signaled upcoming nuptials for her and Smart, whom she has been dating since 2011.
But a rep for the "Live It Up" singer quickly doused the gossip flames, telling the Daily Mail that Lopez and Smart are not engaged to be married.
This isn't the first time Lopez has been the subject of an engagement rumor. Last October, she flashed a massive diamond rock on her left ring-finger while sitting front row at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week. The speculation turned out to be false then, too.
Either way, there is a lot of love between Smart and Lopez, who just celebrated her 44th birthday on July 24. The 26-year-old sent his famous girlfriend a very public birthday wish.
"#HAPPYBIRTHDAY to my very very #BeautifulBear the nicest,sweetest,funniest,sexiest bear there is!!!! Love u xooxo @JLo," he tweeted.
Although he didn't give her an engagement ring, Smart did buy Lopez some fabulous jewelry for her special day. According to People magazine, the dancer sought out some unique, vintage pieces from the Platt Boutique in LA. He wound up choosing a '70s yellow gold and diamond link bracelet and a '40s gold and diamond ring, both featuring buckles.
Birthday celebrations were held at at Lopez's lavish Hamptons estate in Water Mill, N.Y., where family and friends partied at a big, mojito-filled barbecue.
