President Obama will sit down with Amazon Kindle Singles editor David Blum on Tuesday.
CNN White House producer Adam Aigner-Treworgy tweeted the news of the interview. Blum, a journalist who has worked at the Wall Street Journal and previously served as editor of the Village Voice, joined Amazon as the editor of Kindle Singles in 2011.
Kindle Singles is Amazon's publishing division for long-form journalism and novellas. GigaOM reported that the interview will be published as a Kindle Single on Wednesday, and it will be free. It is the latest in an interview series launched by Amazon last week.
The interview will be part of the president's visit to Amazon's fulfillment center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he will propose cutting corporate taxes in exchange for increasing investment in jobs programs. It is the latest stop on his national economic tour.
Neither the plan nor the venue are without controversy. Independent booksellers have criticized the president's praise of job creation at Amazon as "woefully misguided," and raised concerns about the company's wages and business practices.
