Kate Hudson's been the face of Ann Taylor for quite some time now, and she even has her own capsule collection with the retailer. So how do you shake things up in a long-standing relationship? Add kids to the mix.
Ann Taylor's fall 2013 ads focus on Kate's proud role as a working mother. The images depict the actress in a domestic setting instead of a more corporate one, prepping for her high-powered day with kids' toys strewn about. And in the campaign's lead shot, Kate laughs alongside her adorable nephews in the kitchen.
"It's a little bit about how I live and a lot about how women live every day," Hudson tells Women's Wear Daily. "As working moms, we're all just figuring it out as we go, right? But if I were to offer my advice, I'd say, try to be present. When you’re at your job, be 100 percent committed to it and do the very best you can. And when you go home at night, leave all the work behind and show up completely for your family. That’s the best part of your day, so really be there."
The ads bear positive inscriptions such as, "We live, work, and play in the moment," cheerleading similarly overextended mothers along their travels. Though we can't help but wonder why Ann Taylor didn't use Kate's own children as models instead of her nephews (perhaps her 9-year-old son Ryder's pink and blue hair didn't fit in to Ann Taylor's idyllic vision).
Laughing in trendy power suits amidst young childrens' chaos, Kate seems to prove that women can have it all. What do you think of the ads?
