"Millionaire Matchmaker" Patti Stanger doesn't credit her own skills for her dating success so much as she does plastic surgery.
After her seven-year relationship with real-estate executive Andy Freidman ended in 2010, Stanger ventured back onto the dating scene. The Bravo star opened up to Life & Style magazine about how she turned to surgery to boost her confidence.
She underwent breast augmentations and an eye lift, and today the 52-year-old Bravo personality is dating mortgage broker David Krause. The two met through an online dating site more than a year ago.
“I felt pretty and like I could go out, date and compete with all the young girls,” she told the magazine. “When I met David [Krause], he thought I was younger than I was! He didn’t care, though, when he found out my real age.”
Confidence is not the only thing that helped the New Jersey native. So did a change of mindset.
Stanger has previously credited former "Real Housewives of New York" star Jill Zarin with helping her bring love into her life. Earlier this month, at Zarin's Ladies Luxury Luncheon in Southampton, the matchmaker discussed how she was depressed two years ago because she was single.
"I was like, 'What's wrong with me? I'm smart. I make money. I'm pretty. What's going on?'" she said, according to People magazine. "I told Jill, who said, 'Something is running in your unconscious that is preventing you from finding love.'" She added, "Forty eight hours later, David walked into my life."
Although she wears a diamond rock on her finger, Stanger is not engaged, Us Weekly noted. She explained in March that the bauble is a promise ring.
