Recipe Of The Day: Tomato Tart

Tina Rupp/Food&Wine

There's no better way to enjoy the summer than to overdose on tomatoes. Just like getting sunburned from long, lazy days at the beach, it's a seasonal must. Filling up on tomatoes is easy to do, especially with all the different varieties out there. Between the vine-grown, cherry tomatoes and heirloom varieties, you've got a lot to choose from. And when you opt for cherry, we suggest you use them to make this summer tomato tart recipe.

The best thing about this tomato tart recipe is that it calls for only five ingredients, and more than half of those are just to make the pie crust. Once you've got your pie crust ready, it's just a matter of filling it with cherry tomaotoes and slowly roasting them in the oven for over an hour and a half. Top with basil and you'll have yourself the perfect summer meal.
